German for your start in Austria or Germany

You are planning the move to Germany, Austria or Switzerland – and in your new everyday life you do not want to get by “somehow”, but manage confidently in German. This one-to-one online training helps you prepare linguistically and mentally for your new start: in everyday life, at work, and in contact with authorities and colleagues.

One-to-one German training – prepared for your new everyday life

Many people who move to a German-speaking country can already understand quite a lot and hold simple conversations. It becomes difficult when everything is new at the same time: finding accommodation, registering with authorities, the first day at work, doctor’s appointments, conversations at school or kindergarten. This is exactly where this training starts: we make your German more stable, build typical routines, and prepare concrete situations related to your move.

Warum mit mir?
I am Ferenc Andrási, a native speaker of German with a technical background (Höhere technische Lehranstalt, Engnineer), solid linguistic expertise, and many years of experience in adult education as a German trainer. For many years I have worked with people who move to Germany, Austria or Switzerland for work or family – from professionals in industry and nursing to IT and office roles, and also relatives who organise everyday life locally. Through my own foreign-language experience, I understand what it means to have to function in a new language – often with little time and under considerable pressure.

Your training – tailored
The lessons follow your plan: where you are going, what your everyday life will look like, and which tasks you will face. Typical focus areas:
Organising everyday life: shopping, arranging appointments, approaching neighbours, childcare, doctor’s visits
Starting work: introducing yourself, understanding tasks, asking questions, giving brief updates
Authorities and forms: clarifying registration, residence matters, health insurance, school and similar topics in an understandable way
Phone and online contacts: conversations with landlords, employers, authorities or service providers
If needed: preparation for required language exams or short aptitude tests – with tasks that match your goal

Your progress
You receive clear feedback, targeted corrections, and tasks that are directly connected to your planned everyday life. Step by step, a feeling develops:
I know what is coming – and I can handle it in German.

How we approach the training

Two steps are decisive: orientation in your new environment – and practising typical situations often enough until they work reliably.

Understanding & structuring

Clarify the basics, plan everyday life

First we discuss your situation: country, city or region, professional plans, family, schedule. Then we sort what German you need first: key phrases, sentence patterns, vocabulary for housing, work, doctors, school, authorities. These building blocks are organised so that you have a clear, structured system you can rely on in everyday life.

Applying & consolidating

Routine for your new everyday life

Then we transfer these structures to real scenarios: viewing an apartment, registering at the residents’ registration office, the first conversation with your manager, a conversation at kindergarten or school, a doctor’s appointment, a call with a service centre. We practise conversation flows, typical questions, and possible difficulties. You speak yourself; I support you with precision, word choice, and sentence structure. Through repetition, routine develops – also for the first, often demanding weeks after the move.

What we can train

Focus areas that can be combined depending on your goal – from your first shopping trip to your start at the company.

Free speaking in everyday life

Expand vocabulary – present yourself confidently

You learn to respond more fluently in everyday conversations: with neighbours, landlords, colleagues, in shops, or in brief everyday encounters. Typical situations are practised repeatedly until you can answer without long searching.

Understanding and applying grammar

Use structures in a targeted way

The focus is on the structures you constantly need in your new everyday life: asking questions, requesting help, explaining, giving reasons, making suggestions. These patterns are explained clearly and used immediately in your own examples until they work reliably.

Writing in everyday life and at work

Texts that are understood

We work on emails and short messages: to landlords, employers, school or kindergarten, authorities, or service providers. The goal is clear, polite, and easy-to-follow language, without complicated sentences.

Listening & understanding

Reliably grasp spoken German

You practise understanding conversations with different speaking styles better – on the phone, in the office, at appointments, or in public life. This means less information is lost, and follow-up questions become easier.

Speaking clearly, being well understood

Pronunciation, stress, rhythm

With targeted feedback on sounds and stress, you will be understood better and appear more confident. Your accent does not have to disappear – what matters is that your messages come across clearly and you feel comfortable in your new environment.
