Language training with professional and practical background

The training is led by Ferenc Andrási. German is his native language; he also speaks English and understands Hungarian. He has a technical background (Höhere technische Lehranstalt, Engineer), solid linguistic expertise, and many years of experience in adult education as a German trainer. During this time, he has worked with international professionals in industry, healthcare, engineering/technical fields, IT, public administration and services, and is familiar with typical situations such as project meetings, customer calls, consultation meetings and internal coordination.

Thanks to his own experience with foreign languages — English, Hungarian, and Latin — he understands both sides: that of teachers and that of learners. The training is not about grammar rules, but about clear, usable language: suitable phrasing, understandable structure, and feedback that helps you move forward in a concrete way.

I already understand a lot of German, but I feel unsure when speaking. Is this training suitable for me?

Yes. This is exactly the kind of situation where individual training is particularly useful. Many learners already understand quite a lot in everyday life or at work and can manage simple conversations, but lose confidence as soon as the situation becomes faster, more precise or more important.

In the training, we work on helping you do more than simply “get by somehow”. The aim is for you to express yourself more clearly, more calmly and more naturally. What matters is not speaking in the most complicated way possible, but responding clearly, appropriately and confidently in the situations that are important to you.

I make many mistakes when speaking. Does individual training still make sense?

Yes. In training, mistakes are not an obstacle; they are the basis for targeted work. Individual lessons make it possible to identify which mistakes occur repeatedly and which of them actually affect your clarity or the impression you make.

We do not correct everything at once. Priority is given to the points that matter most for your communication: sentence structure, word order, tenses, articles, prepositions, typical formulations, pronunciation or the ability to respond spontaneously.

Who is online German training particularly suitable for?

The training is suitable for adults who want to use German more confidently in everyday life, at work or in important personal situations. This includes working professionals, specialists, applicants, people preparing to move to a German-speaking country, and those who want to feel more secure using German in their private life.

Typical goals include speaking more fluently, understanding conversations better, handling professional situations, preparing for job interviews, writing more clearly, expanding vocabulary, or improving pronunciation and sentence structure.

Is this a regular German course?

No. The training is not a standard textbook-based course, nor is it a collection of isolated practice lessons on random everyday topics. It is individual language training that systematically connects your specific starting point, your goals and your recurring linguistic difficulties.

The central question is not which textbook chapter comes next, but rather: Which language situations are truly relevant for you? Where do uncertainty, misunderstandings or inhibitions arise? Which structures, formulations and response patterns do you need in order to express yourself in German more clearly, more confidently and more naturally?

From which language level can I take part?

The training is useful if you can already form simple sentences and understand basic conversations. A solid A2 level can already be developed further, especially if the goal is to gain more confidence in everyday life or in simpler professional situations.

For more demanding professional conversations, job interviews, presentations or specialist topics, a level of at least B1 is usually particularly suitable. If you are unsure, the first session will be used to assess whether the training matches your current level.

Is the training also suitable for beginners?

Not as a classic course starting from the very first German lesson. If you hardly speak any German yet, a basic course may be more appropriate at first.

However, if you can already have simple conversations, understand short pieces of information and form your own sentences, the training can build on this foundation in a targeted way. The aim is then to organise what you already know, close gaps and make your German practically usable.

What happens in the free first session?

In the first session, we clarify your starting point, your goals and the situations in which you need German. You receive an initial assessment of what we could usefully work on and which training format suits your needs.

The session is non-binding. Its purpose is not to sell you just any package, but to assess realistically whether the training is useful for you and, if so, in what form.

Do I already need to know exactly what I want to practise?

No. Many learners initially only know that they feel unsure in German. That is enough to begin with.

In the conversation, we clarify together where the uncertainty arises: in free speaking, comprehension, grammar, professional conversations, emails, applications, everyday situations or pronunciation. From this, concrete priorities for the training are developed.

Can I specifically practise free speaking?

Yes. For many learners, free speaking is the most important part of the training. This does not mean random conversation, but guided, corrected and repeated speaking practice.

You practise expressing thoughts clearly, asking follow-up questions, giving explanations, telling short stories, responding to objections or handling typical situations from your everyday and professional life linguistically. The aim is for you to translate less in your head and find suitable formulations more quickly.

Is grammar also explained in the lessons?

Yes, but not in an abstract way detached from actual use. Grammar is explained where it is important for your communication.

If, for example, word order, tenses, articles, prepositions or subordinate clauses make your statements unclear, we work precisely on these points. The focus is on structures that you can use yourself, not on long lists of rules.

Will my pronunciation be corrected?

Yes, if pronunciation, stress or intonation affect how well you are understood, or if you want to sound more natural.

The aim is not to eliminate every trace of an accent. An accent is not automatically a problem. What matters is that you are understood well, that important words are stressed correctly and that you sound more confident when speaking.

Can I learn to understand spoken German better?

Many learners understand written texts much better than conversations, phone calls or fast everyday speech. In the training, we can work specifically on helping you understand spoken language more effectively.

This includes typical phrases, common reductions, different speaking speeds, follow-up questions and strategies for situations in which you do not understand something immediately. The goal is not to recognise every single word, but to handle spoken interactions with greater confidence.

Can I improve emails and written texts as well?

Yes. We can work on emails, short messages, application documents, professional texts, reports, notes or everyday written communication.

The aim is not to make texts artificially complicated. Good texts are clear, appropriate and understandable. We work on structure, tone, word choice, politeness, precision and typical formulations.

Can I prepare for a job interview?

Yes. Job interview preparation is a very useful focus for individual training because it is linguistically and psychologically demanding.

We practise, among other things, self-presentation, CV, professional experience, projects, motivation, reasons for changing jobs, strengths, difficult questions, questions for the employer, and how to open and close the conversation. Phone and video interviews can also be prepared.

Yes. If you have a specific position, industry or interview ahead of you, the training can be aligned with that.

In this case, we do not work with generic model answers, but with your CV, your experience, your goals and the likely requirements of the position. The aim is for your answers to sound professional while still genuinely fitting you.

Are answers for job interviews learned by heart?

No. Memorised answers often sound unnatural and tend to fall apart as soon as a question is phrased differently.

Instead, we develop a linguistic framework: clear formulations, useful building blocks and typical answer patterns. This enables you to respond flexibly without having to fix every word in advance.

Does the training help with starting out in Austria, Germany or Switzerland?

Yes. If you are planning to move to or make a professional fresh start in a German-speaking country, the training can prepare you specifically for typical initial situations.

Can I practise everyday situations?

Yes. Everyday situations are an important part of the training, especially if you live in a German-speaking country or are planning to move there.

Typical topics include shopping, making appointments, phone calls, visits to the doctor, conversations with neighbours, apartment viewings, kindergarten, school, authorities, banks, insurance companies or short conversations in public everyday situations. This is not only about vocabulary, but also about responding appropriately.

Is small talk also practised?

Yes, provided it is relevant to your goals. Small talk is important in many situations: before a meeting, when getting to know new colleagues, with neighbours, with customers, before a job interview or in private settings.

We practise suitable openings, short follow-up questions, natural responses, changes of topic and polite formulations. The aim is not to sound stiff or rehearsed, but to become more confident in short conversations.

Can I bring my own topics or documents?

Yes. Your own topics are expressly useful if they fit your goal. These may include emails, interview situations, presentations, typical professional conversations, everyday situations or specific questions.

For professional documents, the following applies: confidential information, customer data, internal details or trade secrets should be removed or anonymised in advance.

How individual is the training really?

The training is aligned with your situation, your level, your goals and your recurring difficulties. There is no fixed plan that is simply worked through independently of you.

If it becomes clear during the lessons that a certain topic is more important than initially expected, it is explored in greater depth. If a point already works reliably, we do not spend unnecessary time on it. This keeps the training closely connected to your actual needs.

Do I have to take a lot of notes during the lesson?

No. During the lesson, you can focus primarily on speaking, understanding and responding.

Important formulations, corrections, new words, sentence patterns and tasks are recorded in a shared online document. This allows you to review the lesson afterwards without note-taking disrupting the flow of conversation.

What is the shared online document?

The shared online document is an ongoing collection of the most important content from the training. It contains formulations, corrections, vocabulary, example sentences, small exercises and notes on your topics.

It serves both as learning material and as documentation of your progress. You can see what has been worked on, which topics recur and what should continue to be practised.

Are there homework assignments?

Yes, if they are useful. Homework may consist of short writing tasks, revision from the shared document, vocabulary work, preparation for a conversation or small formulation exercises.

The amount is kept realistic. What matters is not the quantity of tasks, but whether they help you genuinely consolidate the content covered in the lesson.

How often should I take lessons?

That depends on your goal and your available time. For continuous progress, at least one session per week is useful. If you want to progress more quickly or have a specific deadline ahead, two or more sessions per week may be more appropriate.

Regularity is more important than isolated intensive phases. Language becomes more stable when central structures are repeated, expanded and applied in new situations.

How long does one lesson last?

One lesson lasts 50 minutes. Depending on their scope, the packages consist of several lessons and are designed to allow regular work over a period of several weeks.

Does the teaching take place online?

Yes. The lessons take place live online. They are not pre-recorded videos, but personal one-to-one lessons with direct correction, follow-up questions and individual adaptation.

Online teaching is particularly practical if you are busy with work, have family commitments, travel, live abroad or need to integrate lessons flexibly into your everyday life.

What technical equipment do I need?

You need a stable internet connection, a device with a camera and a working microphone. A quiet environment where you can speak and listen attentively is also important.

No special technical knowledge is required.

What happens if I have to cancel an appointment?

Appointments should be cancelled or rescheduled in good time. The specific deadline is governed by the booked package or the agreed lesson conditions; it is usually 36 hours before the appointment.

Are evening or weekend appointments possible?

Appointments are arranged subject to availability. You can discuss with the trainer which time slots generally suit you, for example mornings, afternoons, evenings or weekends. Whether a specific appointment is possible is agreed individually.

Can I prepare for a language exam?

Yes, the training can support preparation for required language exams, recognition procedures or aptitude tests.

This is not only about exam formats, but above all about the language skills behind them: understanding, speaking, writing, structuring, responding and formulating clearly.

Is the training suitable if I am nervous or have inhibitions about speaking?

Yes. Many adults understand significantly more than they can spontaneously say. Uncertainty does not arise from a lack of intelligence or a lack of professional competence, but from too little routine in active speaking.

In individual training, you can speak, make mistakes, receive corrections and reformulate in a protected setting. The aim is not perfect language from the first lesson, but increasing confidence and control.
